On Tuesday 2nd November 2021, SpaceMates Online’s interview guest is Andrew Ludar-Smith, Founder and Technical Director of Resolve Robotics. He will talk about Resolve Robotics’ Micro ROV, the first in a range of ultra-small, customisable ROVs in the 50mm-150mm diameter range.

Resolve Robotics is a developer and manufacturer of micro and nanorobotic systems for hazardous and challenging mission environments.

Founder and Technical Director, Andrew Ludar-Smith, is highly experienced in developing robotic systems for the nuclear industry. Andrew’s background is in developing robotic systems for remote deployment into hostile environments.

The Resolve Robotics team is highly experienced in solving complex deployment and remote intervention challenges for the nuclear industry. Projects include the world’s smallest commercially available remotely operated vehicle (ROV), a world-leading computer vision algorithm, robotics system integration, a distributed modular manufacturing ecosystem, and multiple novel robotic deployment systems.

Resolve Robotics’ ultra-small ROVs incorporate the functionality needed for deployment down ice sheet boreholes and into the bodies of water below, enabling exploration and oceanographic research in previously inaccessible areas.

The long-term aspiration is to develop technology for through-ice deployment on the moons of the outer solar system (Europa, Callisto, and others).

By strengthening the Space Industry network now, we’ll be ready for blast-off once restrictions are ended.

By strengthening the UK Space Industry network now along with our friends from 'Down Under' and worldwide, we’ll be ready for blast-off once Coronavirus restrictions are lifted.

Ray Stott from SpaceSpecialists Ltd hosts the event.
