On Tuesday 15th March 2022, SpaceMates Online our interview guest is Dan Jones, Technology Manager, UK Space Agency.

Since 2014 Dan has represented the UK on two EU-funded CSA projects: PERASPERA and EPIC, writing extensive technology roadmaps in the fields of space robotics and electric propulsion. Prior to that Dan developed technology roadmaps for the UK aerospace sector, underpinning the Aerospace Growth Partnership and creation of the Aerospace Technology Institute.

He is developing a UK roadmap for a suite of three orbital demonstrators showcasing UK capability in the field of space robotics, launching in 2025, 2027, and 2029. He Chairs the Industrial and International Advisory Board for the FAIR-SPACE Hub, sits on the BEIS Programme Committee for Horizon Europe, and also the UK’s In-Orbit Servicing & Manufacturing Working Group.

Outside of work he is a science-fiction novelist. His debut novel, the science-fiction thriller Man O’War was published in 2018 by Snowbooks, and he has had several short pieces published. He is also the host of Chronscast, the official podcast of SFF Chronicles, the world’s largest science-fiction and fantasy community, where he discusses books, films, and writing, with his special guests. He lives with his family in Essex.
