Space Electronics Programme Manager

Due to growing demand from the global space sector, we are looking for passionate and experienced individuals to manage our space programmes that deliver solutions to our customers.

We are a global supplier of rugged, high performance, electronic equipment for aerospace and space avionics based in Dublin, Ireland.

The Programme Manager will manage the planning, system design, development, build, test and delivery of electronic avionics systems for space applications. The ideal candidate is an all-rounder with a mix of experience in space systems design and programme management. They need to take responsibility for leading the project team with a sense of urgency towards a common goal to deliver the solution to our customer on time and within budget. Excellent communications skills are required to interface with the customer and with the internal departments who are delivering items and services to the project.

He/she will report directly to the senior management team and work under minimal supervision while assuming responsibility for day-to-day operational management of all activities and functions, including developing, implementing and evaluating programme policies, procedures and standards; determining programme service levels and enhancements; developing and monitoring programme budgets; providing technical advice and/or supervision to staff, other departments, the public and other agencies, and performs related work as required.

Space System Engineering and Space Product Assurance will report directly to the Programme Manager.

• Operational management of allocated project teams, via agreed procedural mechanisms to ensure the proactive planning for and management of all programme operational issues
• Development of the project teams to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of programme objectives
• Formulate, manage and continually develop the individuals in the project teams and provide day-to-day steering and coaching
• Ensure that all programme activities are carried out within the constraints of the operating budgets and achieving improved efficiency where possible
• Provide regular reports to management with detailed reviews of project performance and risk management
• Chair daily/weekly/monthly project team reviews as requested
• Coordinate product delivery requirements with production, purchasing and engineering departments
• Evaluate schedules and product status to determine appropriate actions to ensure delivery of products on time and manage programme risk

Qualifications & Experience
• Honours Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
• 5 years of related experience, in a functional organization or programme/project group
