Spacecraft Mechanical AIT Engineer

Our Client has recently secured new space projects and we have a great opportunity for a Mechanical Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) Engineer to join the project team in Europe.

Key Duties
• Support the Assembly Integration and Test (AIT) for space programmes
• Review of test requirement specifications, support spacecraft functional and performance tests
• Support unit, sub-system and spacecraft level environmental tests
• Documentation of test results in the relevant test reports
• Support Non-Conformance Report (NCR) and anomaly investigations
• Provide technical assistance on an as-required basis working to strict deadlines in a high pressure, results-driven environment
• Support spacecraft operation and the Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) including associated spacecraft/MGSE handling and logistics
• Travel as needed to support project testing activities within Europe
• Flexibility to work shifts and support extended working hours, including weekends

Required Skills
• Engineering degree or appropriate industry experience equivalent
• 3+ years spacecraft AIT experience at system/sub-system level either on complete spacecraft and/or payload and/or platform
• MGSE experience and spacecraft handling
• European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) knowledge/experience preferred
• Proven ability to work in a high pressure, spacecraft testing environment whilst providing quality, safety compliant support
• "Can do" approach and ability to work in an integrated multi-cultural team
• Fluency in English, knowledge of German and/or French is an advantage
