On Tuesday 9th November 2021, SpaceMates Online’s interview guest is Stella Alexandrova Tkatchova, Commercialization Manager at S-Cosmos Ltd. Her expertise is in the commercialization of space technologies.

Previously she worked as a Project Manager in the European space industry. She has managed a number of high-profile projects: ESA ARTES INDIGO programme, ESA ARTES Pacis-1 and Pacis-5, GOVSATCOM, Sentinel 1, Sentinel 3 and O3B.

Her expertise as Project Manager also includes exploratory research projects in the aviation industry for the European Commission (EC).

She started her space career working at ESA’s European Space and Technology Centre (ESTEC) on the ESA Columbus laboratory of the International Space Station (ISS) and on the European GPS programme, Galileo.

She was awarded a PhD by the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, TU-Delft, The Netherlands and a Master of Space Science from the International Space University (ISU), Strasbourg, France.

Stella has authored books on space technology commercialization with her latest one ‘Emerging Space Markets’ published by Springer and has written numerous scientific articles on problems related to the commercialization of space technology.

Her recent scholarly interest is focused on the future evolution of space debris and in-orbit satellite servicing markets.

Stella is the founder and former Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Space Technology Management & Innovation (IJSTMI).
