Senior Production Technician
Our Client is looking for 2 skilled and motivated Senior Production Technicians to join their manufacturing team.
They are a UK-based Electric Propulsion company with many years of experience in the design, development and production of cutting-edge electric propulsion systems for a diverse range of applications. Projects range from early R&D to high levels of maturity flight systems and cover a range of technologies.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a critical role in the assembly, integration and testing of electric propulsion thruster components, ensuring compliance with rigorous quality standards. This hands-on position is ideal for individuals with a strong technical background, experience in spacecraft assembly processes and a passion for precision engineering.
- Develop assembly and integration procedures in collaboration with engineers and PA/QA leads
- Assemble and integrate components by following defined processes and procedures
- Assess supplier materials, components and data for compliance with requirements
- Review designs to evaluate interface tolerances, material selection and compatibility
- Operate and maintain mechanical manufacturing and electrical tools
- Support testing activities for Electric Propulsion components
- Identify non-conformances during manufacturing or testing and perform initial troubleshooting
- Provide feedback on processes and procedures to enable continuous improvement and lessons learned for future projects
- Maintain tidiness, organisation and adherence to safe working practices in production areas and clean rooms
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree, HND or HNC in an engineering or technical discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the space sector
- Hands-on experience with spacecraft assembly processes, such as soldering, crimping, potting and bonding (certification in these processes is highly desirable)
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or equivalent)
- Experience or knowledge of electric propulsion systems is highly advantageous
Location
This is a full time position in the UK.
