System/Test Engineer Power Electronics

Our Client is looking for a System/Test Engineer Power Electronics to join their team in Austria.

You will join a highly dynamic development team, supporting with your excellent skills a new and highly competitive product in the automotive industry. This new product for battery cell testing is based on our Client's very successful product from the space domain (power test equipment for satellites).

These battery cell testers are used in the various stages of assembly, integration, verification and testing of the different subsystems of battery manufacturers. Their goal is to design, configure, assemble, integrate, and test the company's own products to finally deliver them to their customers (battery manufacturers) and put them into operation at their customer premises.

With your power electronics background you will translate the requirements from Product Line Management (PLM) to manage requirements for the system architecture and create the related requirements for the development team (HW and SW). You will validate the solutions through testing (testcase definition and execution). Your main interfaces are the R&D HW and SW Architects and the PLM.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting their Product Line Manager (PLM) in requirement engineering
  • Requirement specification for their SW and HW development teams
  • Push and drive the development teams
  • Creation of test plans and test specifications based on customer and internal requirements
  • Design and evaluation of test setups
  • Integration of test setups into a common automated test platform
  • Testing and verification of electronic circuits, bug fixing, update of schematics and documentation
  • Documentation, analysis and reporting of test results

As you will be working on a cutting-edge design of a power electronics product, your diligence and experience will be vital for the overall success of the R&D project. Your commitment will make it possible to develop a turnkey solution for satellite testing.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) at a Technical University within electronics, electrical engineering etc., or at University of Applied Science (FH)
  • Several years of professional experience and experience within the automotive test industry is a plus
  • DOORS – Requirement engineering (or similar requirement engineering tool/method)
  • Expertise in Python – test strategy and automation
  • Confidence in the use of test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies and multimeters)
  • Good know-how in power electronics and switching power supplies
  • Experience with Java script and SCPI commands
  • Excellent English skills, both in writing and orally
  • Knowledge of similar power test systems for – optimally – satellite or automotive power subsystems
  • Background in SW: C, C++, Java, FPGA and DSP
  • Analytical and solution orientated, take ownership and responsibility
  • Technical and social competences to successfully interact with the other teams (Mechanics, Hardware, Software and Procurement Quality)
  • Intercultural cooperation
  • Team player

Location

This is a full time position in Austria with reference to our Client's office in Vienna, remote work possible (max. 50%).
