Electric Propulsion Engineer
Our Client is looking for an Electric Propulsion Engineer to join their growing team.
They are a UK-based Electric Propulsion company with many years of experience in the design, development and production of cutting-edge electric propulsion systems for a diverse range of applications. Projects range from early R&D to high levels of maturity flight systems and cover a range of technologies.
Responsibilities
For this position you will be working as part of the Propulsion Engineering Team and report to a Senior Research Engineer. As an Electric Propulsion Engineer you will be supporting the design, modelling, testing and diagnostics of electric propulsion devices and/or of their components and assist in the production of the relative documentation.
You will support the communication and engagement with the customer and/or partners involved in the projects you are assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in a STEM discipline, such as Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Physics/Mathematics
- 3 years experience in Electric Propulsion industry, or PhD education in Electric Propulsion or Plasma Physics related field
- Flexible and positive approach to working in a dynamic business environment
- Knowledge of programming languages: Python, MATLAB, LabView or others
- FEA/CFD engineering/physics-based software knowledge such as COMSOL, ANSYS or others
- Experience with testing/diagnostics or modeling of electric propulsion or plasma systems
- Experience of working in a multi-discipline team environment
- Experience with Computer-aided design (CAD) programs such as SolidWorks
- Understanding of project development cycles
- This is a position for an experienced electric propulsion engineer, with experience acquired either in Industry or Research/University level
Location
This is a full time position in the UK.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold all appropriate documentation and permits to work in the UK. The company will sponsor eligible candidates for the UK VISA process.
